On August 18, Development Conference for Suzhou High-tech Zone photon industry Innovation Cluster and event series released by Taihu Lake Photon Center were held at Shishan International Conference Center and Qingshan Conference Center. Cao Jianlin, Deputy Director of the Education, Science, Health and Sports Committee under National Committee of the CPPCC, and Shao Xinyu, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Science and Technology, delivered their speeches in a form of video. Cao Lubao, Standing Committee of Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of Suzhou Municipal Party Committee, attended the event.
As pointed out by Cao Jianlin in his speech, the photon industry is one of the representative industries in the information age, and it is the right time to vigorously develop the photon industry.

As pointed out by Shao Xinyu in his speech, to build the Taihu Lake Photon Center and to build the photon industry innovation cluster is a powerful measure to promote the innovation and upgrading of the leading industries with regional advantages and achieve self-reliance and self-improvement in high-level science and technology.

At the event, Taihu Lake Photon Center was started, and the overall concepts and industrial policies were released. Min Dayong, Chairman and General Manager of Everbright Photonics, Zheng Youxi and Wang Lijun, academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Zhou Shouhuan and Zhuang Songlin, academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Wu Xinhua, academician of the Australian Academy of Technical Science and Engineering, and other 20 experts were hired as the first group of consultants for the photon industry innovation cluster in Suzhou High-tech Zone.

As an important innovation carrier of Taihu Lake Photon Center, Suzhou Semiconductor Laser Innovation Research Institute held an opening ceremony at the event. The Institute was jointly built by Suzhou High-tech Zone and Everbright Photonics. The leading and radiating capabilities of Everbright Photonics' semiconductor laser chip technology are utilized to attract top talents from all over the world and gather related high-end industries in a way that builds a sustainable leading R&D platform and creates an innovation highland and industrial base for semiconductor laser chips and related fields with international influence. Special attention shall be paid to tackling key photon core technologies and transforming scientific and technological achievements, so as to comprehensively help develop complete photon industry chain, innovation chain and application field chain in China, enhance global competitiveness, and promote industrial prosperity and development.
Contracts were signed for Taihu Photon Industry Investment Fund, Advanced Laser Innovation Center and other institute platforms, high-power femtosecond lasers and other scientific and technological projects on the spot. The Fund was jointly initiated by Suzhou High-tech Zone Management Committee, Suzhou Innovation Investment Group, Huatai Zijin Investment and Everbright Photonics, with a total scale of 10 billion yuan, including 1 billion yuan for initial phase. It focuses on the investment in the optoelectronics industry and helps build Taihu Lake Photon Center to create a highland for scientific and technological innovation in China's photon industry.
At the same time, two industry events, Optical Manufacturing Industry Forum and Optical Sensing Industry Forum for Taihu Lake Photon Center, were held. Participants were leaders of more than 300 well-known enterprises, technology leaders, industry experts and practitioners, end users, a number of investment institutions, industry associations, research centers, industry alliances, industry media, professional consulting agencies and exhibitors in the upstream and downstream of photon industry chain. They gathered together to talk about development, innovation, and the future around the photon industry chain.
